The Art of Being Selfish

What’s in it for me?

I haven’t posted on my blog for a couple of weeks, and it’s basically because I haven’t been taking my own advice. I mentioned in my post Five Small Ways I’m Changing My Life in a Big Way that making more time for things that you love is so important. But I have just not been prioritising that enough lately. Which got me thinking, the art of being selfish is something we all need to master.

The Art of Being Selfish

It’s time to start reorganising my priorities. Making time for the things I love doing, making time for myself, being selfish. & possibly most importantly, not feeling guilty for doing so. So with selfishness and self-care in mind, so when I came across the new brand What’s in it for me? on Instagram, I was intrigued.

Described as ‘totally selfish, indulgence, in love with yourself products’ they definitely appealed to my selfish side.

They were kind enough to send me a couple of products – the Body Cleanse and Body Cream – which I’ve been trying out over the past couple of weeks. So now I’m sharing my thoughts with you.

The Body Cleanse

I decided this would be a great product to try since it claims to “invigorate the skin”. It definitely seems to be less drying than a regular body wash which is just what I was hoping for. My skin definitely tends to be more on the drier side of the scale, so keeping as much moisture while also cleansing away the everyday nastiness is exactly what I needed.

It contains Aloe vera, witch hazel and grapefruit extra as well as peppermint and rosemary oil. Anything containing natural product is always a win with me so I’ll definitely be continuing to use it up.

The Body Cream

I chose the body cream for many of the same reasons as I chose the Body Cleanse. The hydrating properties of the natural ingredients make it a must-try.

This product boasts orchid, ylang-ylang, jasmine and Violet oil, plus Cedarwood oil. Aiming to nourish and soften the skin.

One of the other things I mentioned in my recent post is that I’m making a conscious effort to allow myself the time to moisturise. So I’ve been adding this product to my routine recently and so far I’m really enjoying it.

Overall the products were pretty impressive. If you’re looking for a new beauty brand to try you should definitely give them a go.

*the products that appear in this post were gifted. however, all opinions are my own.

  • I like how you tied in self-care with the need to master the art of being more selfish with you, your time, and as a part of that, your body. I love love love the way the Body Cleanse sounds.

I love this post! I totally embark on a guilt trip whenever I take care of my body, like using nice lotion or taking a bath! I love that you emphasize that it’s important to do so. I’ve never seen a post like this – nice job!

It’s so easy to feel guilty but self care is so important physically and mentally. Shouldn’t ever feel guilty about it. Thank you for your comment, lovely!
